Carrie Dodge led the team out and played striker. Sue Hunsley who was MotM was always causing the defence on to the back foot and it was her strike crashing off the crossbar that was knocked in by Jo Moorhouse midway through the first half. Scunthorpe went in one up looking reasonably comfortable.
In the second half the game was stretched out with Scunthorpe having a few attempts after Town needed up to push up. In this early period of the 2nd half Sue Hunsley who was tireless put Scunny two up with a clinical finish. Town got themselves a dubious penalty soon after which was subsequently skied and perhaps justice was done. In this period of pressure though Town got themselves a goal a few minutes later. It was all too late for the East Coast side though and Scunny managed to hang on for a great win. They lie second in their league now and pushing for promotion.
